One Desert Tortoise Bolo Tie. Original design was meticulously hand carved in wax by artist Spring Winders, and then cast in the Heliotrope studio in Barrio Viejo, Tucson, Arizona. The Sonoran Desert Tortoise (Gopherus morafkai) is a species adored by true desert lovers. Very realistic and biologically accurate. The back is hollowed out to lessen the weight of the tortoise. Tortoise measures 1.25” wide x 1.9” long.
